1. The particle size distribution is uneven. The particle flow rate is different during tableting, resulting in uneven particle size filled into the middle die hole. For example, if there are more coarse particles, the tablets will be light, and if there are more fine particles, the tablets will be heavy.
Solution: The particles should be mixed or too much fine powder should be sieved out.
2. If fine powder adheres to the punch and causes hanging punching, the tablet weight difference may be large.
Solution: At this time, the lower punch is not flexible to rotate. It should be checked in time, the punch should be removed, and the lower punch and the middle die hole should be cleaned.
3. The particle fluidity is not good. The amount of particles flowing into the middle die hole is sometimes more and sometimes less, causing the tablet weight difference to be too large and exceed the limit.
Solution: Re-granulation or adding appropriate flow aids such as micro-powder silica gel should be done to improve particle fluidity.
4. Particle stratification.
Solution: Solve particle stratification and reduce particle size difference.
5. Use materials with larger particles for smaller tablets.
Solution: Choose particles of appropriate size.
6. The hopper is blocked. This phenomenon often occurs in drugs with strong viscosity or hygroscopicity.
Solution: The hopper should be unblocked, the tableting environment should be kept dry, and a flow aid should be added appropriately to solve the problem.
7. The storage volume of materials in the material varies greatly.
Solution: Control it within 50%.
8. The feeder is unbalanced or not installed in place, resulting in uneven filling.
9. The scraper plate is uneven or poorly installed.
Solution: Leveling.
10. With a forced feeder, the speed of the forced feeder dial does not match the speed of the turntable.
Solution: Adjust to the same level.
11. The punch and the middle die hole are not well matched. For example, more powder leaks between the outer periphery of the lower punch and the wall of the die hole, causing the lower punch to "astringent" and insufficient material filling.
Solution: The punch and the middle die should be replaced.
12. The length of the lower punch is different, which is out of tolerance, resulting in uneven filling.
Solution: Repair the tolerance within ±5μm.
13. The damping force of the damping screw is poor for the lower punch with damping.
Solution: Readjust.
14. The filling track is worn or the filling mechanism is unstable.
Solution: Replace or stabilize.
15. In pursuit of output, the turntable speed is too fast and the filling volume is insufficient.
Solution: Especially when pressing large tablets, the speed should be appropriately reduced to ensure sufficient filling.
16. The tablet press vibrates too much, the structure is loose, the assembly is unreasonable or reassembled.
Solution: The tablet press is set with too much pressure, reduce the pressure.
