1. Insufficient pressure.
Solution: Increase pressure.
However, for some large tablets for special purposes, higher pressure is required. If the pressure requirement reaches or exceeds the upper limit of the tablet press pressure, a tablet press with corresponding specifications of high pressure needs to be customized.
2. Too little pressure time and fast speed.
Solution: Correspondingly extend the pressure time, increase pre-pressure, and reduce the speed.
3. The length of the punch on the multi-punch tablet press is uneven.
Solution: Adjust the punch.
4. The active punch is loose.
Solution: Tighten.
5. The drug is not fine enough, the content of fibrous or elastic drugs or oil components is high and the mixing is uneven.
Solution: The drug can be crushed through a 100-mesh sieve, a strong adhesive can be selected, the pressure of the tablet press can be appropriately increased, and the oil drug absorbent can be added for full mixing.
6. Insufficient or improper selection of binder or wetting agent makes the granules loose or unevenly distributed, and coarse and fine particles are separated.
Solution: You can choose appropriate binders or increase the dosage, improve the granulation process, stir soft materials more, mix the granules evenly, etc. to overcome this problem.
7. The granules have too little water content. Overdried granules have greater elasticity. Drugs containing crystalline water lose more crystalline water during the granule drying process, making the granules brittle and easy to break.
Solution: Therefore, when granulating, the water content of the granules should be controlled according to different varieties. If the granules are too dry, spray an appropriate amount of dilute ethanol (50%-60%), mix well and press the tablets.
8. The properties of the drug itself.
Analysis: Although the tablets pressed out with high density have a certain hardness, they cannot withstand collision and shaking. For example, bismuth subnitrate tablets and soda tablets are often prone to loose tablets;
Low density, poor fluidity, poor compressibility, re-granulation.
9. Poor fluidity of granules.
Analysis: The particles filled into the middle mold hole are uneven.
10. Large pieces or particles or fragments block the scraper and the feed port, affecting the filling amount.
11. The particles in the hopper are sometimes more and sometimes less.
Solution: Add particles frequently to keep a certain amount in the hopper.
